Fillers
Pouch machines may be supplied with fillers or HMC will supply pouch machines without fillers and the customer may supply their own. Types of fillers installed on our machines include combination scales, auger fillers, vibratory feeders, pill feeders, rotary cup feeders, and other feeder types. We will assist in the install and/or supply of the fillers as needed and will work with our customer to ensure the integration of the product fill is simple and effortless. If the customer supplies and installs their own fillers, we will assist with producing the elevation drawings to assist in the physical location of the fillers. Additionally, we will provide the dry contacts and control logic for easy installation upon receiving your new HMC Pouchmaster.
Auger Fillers
HMC Products manufactures the Model ES servo auger filler that utilizes the HMC Pouchmaster controller and interface for an inexpensive, efficient, and integrated control system. Alternatively, we have supplied many different vendor’s auger fillers and can either purchase them directly from the vendor or charge the customer a nominal fee for their installation at HMC. For a less expensive alternative, HMC Products installs used or new clutch brake auger fillers.
Side Gate Fillers
Products such as dried vegetables, corn kernels, marshmallows, or small types of pasta are often best filled with the very economical and efficient HMC Slide Gate Filler. This type filler utilize a single set of telescoping cups for weight changes. Because of the filler’s small footprint, this filler type is often used when multiple fill points are required for an application, such as a soup mix.
Vibratory Fillers
The HMC Rotary Vibratory Feeder is an excellent filler when very small weights of a certain particulate is required, that can’t be fed by an auger filler, slide gate filler, or is not economical to use a combination scale. The footprint for these fillers is only 4” wide and often we will install 2 units side by side and drive the rotary dispensing wheel with a common shaft. The amount of product dispensed is controlled via the frequency of the vibrating pan(s). The timing of the product drop into the pouch is controlled via a rotary wheel with pockets driven from the pouch machine’s main keyed line shaft.

Net Weigh (Combination) Scales
When high accuracy filling of food products is desired, HMC will integrate net weigh scales to HMC Pouchmasters, used/rebuilt Bartelts®, and other horizontal form fill seal machines. Often, HMC Products will have combination scales in stock and, if not, we can source them quickly. Additonally, HMC will supply the bulk feed incline conveyors or bucket elevators, fastbacks, and flow through metal detection.
